“I’d like you to meet my co-worker, Ben”. Looking back as I enter my 26th year at CALA I can still remember how Peter Callander introduced me to clients. Here he was, the sole owner of the company introducing the summer intern to a client as a “co-worker”. That perspective made an impression on all of us and to this day we have carried that philosophy forward doing our best to put our crew and the clients we work with first. It’s an easy metric to graph; the better we treat our team, the more successful the project, and the happier the client.
We are thankful every day for the great people we have the privilege of working with. It’s a gratitude that is hard to express in words but something we all want to pass on and not take for granted. From our team, clients, and partner companies, to vendors and contractors, and the communities we serve, placing value on people has always been one of our center core principles at CALA.
At the close of our 50th anniversary year we look forward to the future. These values have given us new challenges; how do we diversify and map career paths for everyone, craft proposals to serve clients needs that also support our company benefits and competitive pay, and what does live-work balance mean for us? The key to solving these challenges as a company is to continue to be supportive, forward thinking and flexible. We currently have over 25 great people spanning three offices and just today I asked Sonja, our HR director, what is the average employment here? Her answer was an average of 10.9 years. That is impressive!
We would like to thank all of our clients and partners for continuing to choose us for your projects and would like to wish everyone a happy holiday season. We all look forward to seeing all of you soon!
